This is the start to a new painting, or rather two new paintings, both 100” x 60”. I love painting big! These will be available soon enough…
Hold the phone...
Reality check…get off your phone, you’re missing out on moments, not capturing them.
Brunch is one of my favourite times with my lady, and here she captures me again, maybe mocking the screen but nonetheless, on my phone.
If you can, shut it down. Limit it. Manage it. Don’t miss out on real life. I’ve currently shut 2 of my IG accounts down and as such, feel all the healthier. Free. Clear. In touch.
More and more...
This latest painting, in a long line of similar creations, adds to the Over It/Under It collection. Creating these style of paintings is a great pleasure of mine, with about 7 in total so far. The “ASK” tags underlying the streaks of textured white oil paint are a process of mine that always sheds light upon the dark, or in simple terms, whitewashes the street. The very first painting, and largest “Over It/Under It”, was descriptive toward being over graffiti, yet raised under it. Many of the paintings will go by the name, Ask Seek Knock, or ASK - my crew out of the UK, and my first ever tagged name.
Hope you enjoy.
I left the studio the other morning to catch a cup at my local hot brew spot, Analog, and upon my return was met with GoodTry intern and photographer, Jordan Johnson, and the lens capture pro, Oliver Banyard (who is responsible for this photo). We chatted for a few then hit the studio, the the street and grabbed a bunch of images that may be used in a soon to be released campaign.
My love for Harley Davidson motorcycles is constant and endearing. Truly. This is bike number eight, and the first of its kind: 1999 FXDX, and she’s being mechanically made over by the fellas at Owl Head Garage and of course, painted by yours truly (LEHVY and Death Defeated branding), with a great finish put on my good friend, Neil at Rocky Mountain Collision Centre.
It’s a colorful bike, and it will be a very powerful 88ci when all is said and done. Look for it on the streets, and look for me and #themotosocial team this summer, every third Thursday of the month from May to September!
Turning the big 4 - 0 on the ocean in Cabo! Thank you to my lovely lady, Libby, this trip was a perfect set up for the great year ahead. Couldn’t have enjoyed it any more. How on earth did I get to 40? It’s seriously just a number, and a whole lot of experience and lessons learned. Life is good!
What is Greta?
Well, it’s a bar/arcade/playground/venue/restaraunt…
It’s a place I painted and here is the underpainting, bright as it was…
I started Death Defeated in 2014 as part of my brand family, TKB, and the already brand, LEHVY (est. 2007). My friend Levi models well (seen here), check him out when you get a chance…and check the brand too, available in store or online currently through Ill Fated Kustoms and Calgary Cycle City.
In Wellington, New Zealand, with my Honda Civic wagon properly branded, of course.I love that country and I miss it much. This was from my “sabbatical” in 16/17 - what a great time to be away! Go visit that country if you ever get a chance…
